Prepping for Peel Season

Are you ready for fall? In our minds, one of the best things about fall is that peel season is here! We call it peel season because in skincare, the autumn months are considered the best time of year for deeper exfoliation. During these months we typically contend with less sun exposure, and we can reset the skin before the harsher winter months may cause skin to become too dry or compromised for a peel.

Enzyme peels and chemical peels are perfect for removing all the dead, weathered layers of summer skin and replacing it with a warm autumn glow.

Let’s prep for peel season - here are our top tips:

1. Talk to our estheticians or instructors about your skin care goals. Because peel treatments address a variety of skin conditions, we recommend a consultation to discuss your desired outcome. By evaluating your skin’s needs, your lifestyle, and your home care routine, we’re better able to guide you to the right treatment that will get you the best results.

2. Plan to stay out of the sun. Prepping for peel season means lots of sun protection, or even better, avoid sun exposure as much as possible, both before and after your treatment. This helps prevent additional UV damage and protects your investment in your skin.

3. Make sure your homecare lines up. What happens in the treatment room is only one part of the equation. Getting the most from your peel means following up with a homecare routine that properly nourishes your skin. Daily care is just as important as a treatment, so talk to your esty about the right aftercare and homecare products for your skin. They love helping you create a routine that supports your skin between visits!

The Benefits:

Levels of customization: With our peels, we tailor the treatments to your skin’s unique needs. Our professional peels range from lighter enzyme peels to more advanced chemical exfoliation. With different formulas to choose from, we’re able to offer you the best protocol for your skin type and goals.

A series of 3 to 6 provides the best results: For optimal skin health and rejuvenation, peels work best when performed in a series. Although you will see some immediate benefits post-peel, the serious glow happens after multiple visits. With consistent treatment, peel benefits accumulate – evening out skin tone, smoother skin texture, reduced appearance of the signs of aging, reduced breakout activity, and a healthy glow.

Transform your skin with little to no downtime: The peels we use are effective and safe. While everyone’s skin reacts differently to treatment, most of the peel action occurs at the time of application, as dead skin cells are removed by the peel solution. Following your treatment, you may experience some light flaking or micro-peeling, which will quickly subside and reveal rejuvenated, fresh, healthy skin.
